Univers Type Spec Book
Client: Typography I | GAND 226
Univers (Pronounced yoo-nee-VEHR), created in 1957 by designer Adrian Frutiger, was a typeface designed in response to a lack of sans-serif typeface options. Used in many logos today, including FedEx, Adobe, and eBay, Univers is a typeface that has been considered timeless by many designers. This type-spec book details this and more information about Adrian Frutiger and the typeface, including general information about typography.

This project included the ideation, design, and production of this type-spec book as part of the Typography I course, GAND 226. Selecting a specific typeface, and included variants of said typeface, the team began to research the typeface Univers because of its timeless qualities. Following the research phase of the project, the team decided on using a space motif with an Atomic Age design style to create the type-spec book. Using a red-orange, brown, and creme color scheme, the team designed this booklet using only the selected typeface, delving into the fine details and history of the typeface. The type-spec book was then printed and then spiral bound.
